Sherri was born in Dalles, Texas but grew up in the Napa Valley of California. Sherri has two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren that she loves to spend as much time with as possible. She also has three parrots and a pittbull. She has been with Peak Recovery for over 5 years and has made an impact on many lives trying to find their way in recovery.

My name is Julie Barbee, I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Certification in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix. I attended and completed the Drug and Alcohol Counseling Training courses at Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) in Caldwell Idaho.  I currently hold a Certification from the Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counseling Certification (IBADCC) as a Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC).  My passion is working with the still suffering addict by empowering them to become accustom to positivity and solutions to their problems. There is nothing more gratifying and heartwarming than watching a client empower through the difficulties of life and realizing their self-worth. When I am not a work I love spending time with my two children, five grandchildren, my mother, and my Dachshund Serenity.

Wendy graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) in 1999, from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. In 2016, Wendy graduated from the University of Idaho with a Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling (M.Ed.). She currently holds a License in Social Work (LSW) from the Idaho Board of Licensure (IBOL), a Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Most recently, Wendy passed her Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Exam with the Idaho Board of Licensure (IBOL) and will be adding yet another great accomplishment to her resume. Wendy was born in California until her family moved to Utah. From 1984 to 1997, she worked as a police officer in Southern Utah for nine years as a Patrol Officer, two years as an Undercover Narcotics Officer, and two years in the Sex Crimes Unit as an Investigator. After leaving Utah in 2000, Wendy moved to Idaho were she began working for Child Protective Services in Boise, where she stayed for 10 years doing risk assessment investigations for abuse and neglect cases. Wendy enjoys playing basketball, which she did at BYU in Utah and is an avid football fan. She has raised a daughter who is now at University pursuing her own degree.

Alexa Pieksma has been the drug testing manager at Peak Recovery for over 3 years. She has been trained on the Siemens V-Twin state of the art drug testing machine. She is very knowledgeable in this area. 

Alexa is married and has two beautiful children. She loves the outdoors and is very ambitious.

Michonne Pieksma, M.S., LPC, ACADC

Michonne has been the Owner and Clinical Director at Peak Recovery LLC since 2012. Michonne completed her undergraduate degree at the Eastern Oregon University. She continued on to obtain her graduate degree at Capella University resulting in a Masters in Counseling Psychology (M.S.). She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the Idaho Board of Licensure (IBOL). She also holds a certification as an Advanced Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor through the Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification (IBADCC). Michonne has been working with the addicted population since 2006 and specializes in Co-Occurring Disorders. She also has specialized training in Trauma Therapy. Her passion and dedication to her field and staff is unparalleled. She aspires to continually stay up-to-date with all the latest counseling modes and techniques. Her innovation and client centered approach to counseling has made a real impact in hundreds of lives throughout her years of service in the field of counseling, more specifically addictions counseling. Michonne loves to hunt, fish, and spend time in the great outdoors with her family.

Shawna has been the Office Manager at Peak Recovery LLC for over eight years. She obtained her certification as a medical biller and coder (CMBC) at Boise State University. As an Idaho native, more specifically a Caldwell native, she has been married for twenty-eight years and has raised three amazing children. Recently her family has expanded to include her first grandchild and her family is now expecting her second grandchild. Shawna enjoys anything to do with the outdoors. She is an avid camper, kayaker, and dog lover.
